At StrictScore, we believe in transparent, data-driven analysis. Our STRICT Score is a comprehensive metric that evaluates cryptocurrencies based on fundamental factors, not social media hype or price momentum.

What Does STRICT Stand For?

STRICT is an acronym representing six fundamental dimensions we evaluate for every cryptocurrency:

S - Sustainability

Long-term viability of the project, including treasury runway, revenue model, and partnerships

T - Transparency

Team credibility, governance quality, audits, and communication standards

R - Revenue

Actual protocol revenue, fees, and sustainable income (N/A for store-of-value assets)

I - Innovation

Technical advancement, development activity, and competitive moat

C - Community

Developer activity, user adoption, DAU metrics, and ecosystem growth

T - Tokenomics

Token distribution, supply mechanics, inflation schedule, and utility

How We Calculate Scores

Each component is scored independently on a scale of 0-100:

ComponentScaleWhat We Measure
Sustainability0-100Treasury health, runway, battle-tested code
Transparency0-100Team visibility, governance, communication
Revenue0-100Protocol fees, business model viability
Innovation0-100Technology uniqueness, dev activity
Community0-100DAU, ecosystem growth, adoption
Tokenomics0-100Supply mechanics, utility, distribution

The overall STRICT score is a weighted average of these components. The weights depend on the project's sector, and a pillar that does not apply is left out of the average.

TipPro Tip

Revenue is marked N/A for store-of-value assets like Bitcoin, which are not designed to generate protocol revenue. Their sector profile gives revenue no weight, so the pillar is left out of the average and never scored as zero.

Score Tiers Explained

Each score carries the rarity of its band. The bands are the ones published on the methodology page. Rarity labels the fundamentals score, not price.

Legendary
90-100
Epic
80-89
Rare
70-79
Uncommon
60-69
Common
0-59
  • Legendary (90-100): elite, with exceptional fundamentals across all pillars
  • Epic (80-89): strong fundamentals with proven track records
  • Rare (70-79): good fundamentals, some areas to improve
  • Uncommon (60-69): mixed fundamentals, higher risk
  • Common (0-59): weak fundamentals or significant concerns, highest risk

Example Score Breakdown

Here's how a hypothetical project with strong fundamentals might score on each pillar:

What the Score Does and Does Not Tell You

The STRICT Score measures fundamentals: sustainability, transparency, revenue, innovation, community and tokenomics. It does not predict price. A high score does not mean a token will rise, and a low score does not mean it will fall. Crypto prices can move against fundamentals for long periods.

Pro: High STRICT Score Projects

Proven revenue models where the sector depends on revenue, active teams, strong governance, battle-tested code

Con: Low STRICT Score Projects

No revenue where the sector depends on it, anonymous teams, centralized control, unlimited inflation, unaudited contracts
