Each token is backed 1:1 by native USDC custodied by Binance, which itself is backed by Circle's reserves with $70.5 billion USDC in circulation as of February 5, 2026, fully collateralized with 100% cash equivalents. Circle maintains reserves primarily in the Circle Reserve Fund (USDXX), an SEC-registered 2a-7 government money market fund holding over 70% in US government instruments, with custody at The Bank of New York Mellon and management by BlackRock.
