About Core

Analysis of 12 Jun 2026

Core is a Layer 1 blockchain using Satoshi Plus consensus, combining Bitcoin Delegated Proof of Work, Delegated Proof of Stake, and self-custodial Bitcoin staking without giving up custody. Launched in January 2023, Core enables BTC holders to earn native yield by timelocking Bitcoin on-chain using Bitcoin's native CLTV opcode while remaining EVM-compatible.

As of June 12, 2026, CoinGecko shows CORE trading at $0.026895 with market cap of about $33.3M, rank #596, 24h volume of about $3.9M, TVL of about $11.0M, and 1.238B circulating supply against a 2.1B max supply.

That is a much weaker market position than in March 2026: CORE is down 99.56% from its CoinGecko USD ATH of $6.14 and only modestly above the April 2026 USD ATL of $0.0234.

The ecosystem footprint remains meaningful, with 27M+ unique addresses and 308M+ transactions reported since launch. The investment case still rests on Bitcoin DeFi infrastructure, AMPs, SatPay, dual staking, and a revenue-to-buyback roadmap, but the current TVL and market cap show that adoption and revenue conversion remain early.

Core secured a Cayman Islands court injunction against Maple Finance in November 2025, protecting the $150M+ Bitcoin deposited in the lstBTC pilot program, though lstBTC's launch remains paused pending litigation resolution.
