The MOLT token was not officially launched by the Moltbook team but rather deployed via a crypto AI tool called Bankr, making it effectively a community memecoin. Despite claims of 1.6 million AI agents, security researchers found only 17,000 actual humans behind accounts.

The token surged 1,800% in its first 24 hours after Marc Andreessen followed the project on X, reaching a $93 million market cap, before crashing over 97% to approximately $2.6 million.
