Price was up 1.05% over 24 hours and 2.71% over seven days, but down 9.04% over 30 days and 99.96% from the $1.46 all-time high reached on May 12, 2021. Circulating supply was 6.95B LAT against 10.25B total supply.

LAT is the network's native gas, staking, delegation, and governance asset rather than a token contract on another chain. The network uses PlatON proof of stake, or PPoS, with verifiable random functions to select 43 validators from a pool of 225 eligible validators for each consensus round.

Official economic documentation states that LAT has no hard cap and expands by 2.5% annually, split between validator incentives and a foundation-managed developer fund. Product strategy shifted toward payments and AI commerce in 2026.

PlatON's official June report says version 1.6.0 work added compatibility with Ethereum geth v1.12.1, EIP-4844 support, and a refactored transaction pool. Nexus documentation describes an agent-payment clearing layer with merchant discovery, structured quote negotiation, escrow settlement, and MCP, REST, and CLI integration paths.
