About Rayls

Analysis of 17 May 2026

Rayls is a Layer 1 blockchain ecosystem designed for financial institutions to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). Developed by Parfin, the platform combines a permissionless EVM-compatible public chain with private permissioned networks and institutional privacy nodes into unified infrastructure supporting compliant, scalable, and privacy-preserving asset tokenization and settlement.

The project positions itself as 'the blockchain for banks' with a hybrid architecture that enables regulated institutions to maintain confidentiality through its Enygma privacy protocol while connecting to public DeFi liquidity. Rayls launched its public mainnet on April 30, 2026, activating staking, the USDr stablecoin for gas fees, and the full tokenomics model including a 50% fee burn mechanism.

The project gained institutional credibility through participation in Brazil's Central Bank Digital Currency (Drex) pilot with 16 major banks, selection by J.P. Morgan's Kinexys division for Project EPIC, and a strategic investment from Tether in November 2025.

Partners including Nuclea (processing 10,000+ tokenized receivables weekly), Mastercard (Crypto Partner Program), and AmFi ($1B AUM target by 2027) demonstrate real institutional engagement. The technical foundation includes the Rayls Byzantine Fault Tolerant (RBFT) consensus built on Reth (Paradigm's high-performance Ethereum client), the Enygma privacy protocol utilizing zero-knowledge proofs and homomorphic encryption with post-quantum cryptographic features, and cross-chain interoperability via LayerZero integration connecting 120+ blockchains.

Privacy Nodes offer institution-hosted dedicated ledgers capable of 10,000+ TPS with deterministic sub-second finality. Academic research has been published on IACR's ePrint Archive validating the cryptographic approach.
