Aleph Zero (AZERO) is a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain built on the peer-reviewed AlephBFT consensus. Its Directed Acyclic Graph architecture combines Proof-of-Stake validation with asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance to achieve 0.9-second finality.

The network delivers programmable privacy through zkOS and the Shielder Network using zero-knowledge proofs and secure multi-party computation. Following co-founder Adam Gągol's resignation in May 2025 and a Bitfinex delisting in July 2025, the project restructured its roadmap.

On August 31, 2025, Aleph Zero shut down its Arbitrum Orbit EVM Layer 2 to focus on its Substrate Layer 1. Core engineering now targets RISC-V execution and ink!6 smart contracts, with 302.31 million AZERO circulating from a 520 million cap.
