Enso is a Tendermint-based Layer 1 intent engine and chain-abstraction network built on the Cosmos SDK. Founded in 2021 by Connor Howe and Gorazd Ocvirk in Zurich, the protocol turns multi-step DeFi actions into single atomic transactions called Shortcuts.

As of November 2026, Enso contracts operate across 27 networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Berachain, Sonic, Unichain, and Monad. The network has processed over $17 billion in cumulative on-chain volume across more than 145 integrated projects.
Enso raised $15.2 million from Polychain Capital, Multicoin Capital, and NFX. CoinGecko tracks 20.59 million ENSO circulating out of a 100 million initial supply and a 127.34 million maximum supply.
