Ronin is an EVM-compatible gaming blockchain built by Sky Mavis, the team behind Axie Infinity. The network completed its May 12, 2026 migration from an independent sidechain to an Ethereum Layer 2 using Optimism's OP Stack, shifting the thesis from migration execution to whether the upgraded network can rebuild liquidity and fee demand.
