Stader ETHx is a value-accruing liquid staking token representing Ethereum staked through the Stader Labs protocol. Launched in July 2023, the ERC-20 token compounds validator rewards into a rising redemption rate rather than rebasing holder balances.

Stader routes deposits across a permissionless node pool and a curated permissioned validator pool. Permissionless operators can launch an Ethereum validator with a 4 ETH bond and 0.4 ETH in SD token collateral.
The protocol charges a 10% commission on staking rewards, split equally between node operators and the Stader treasury. In January 2026, Vitalik Buterin proposed native Distributed Validator Technology for Ethereum staking, aligning with Stader's 16-key validator design.
By February 2026, ETHx delivered a 2.68% base APY across more than 50 DeFi integrations including Aave, Balancer, Curve, and Pendle.
