Swell Ethereum (swETH) is a reward-bearing Ethereum liquid staking token launched by Swell Network that accrues Beacon Chain staking yield directly into its exchange rate against ETH. After expanding into EigenLayer restaking (rswETH) and launching the OP Stack-based Swellchain Layer 2, the protocol experienced significant contraction in 2026, permanently shutting down Swellchain L2 on June 15, 2026 and seeing swETH TVL decline below $40 million (~14,000 to 17,800 swETH).
