Wrapped stETH is the non-rebasing ERC-20 wrapper for Lido Staked Ether on Ethereum. While stETH updates token balances daily, wstETH keeps a fixed balance and increases its exchange rate against stETH (1.22x as of February 2026) as staking rewards accrue at 2.84% to 3.5% APR.

That static balance design prevents reward trapping inside Layer 2 bridges, lending pools, and automated market makers. Backed 1:1 by stETH within Lido ($41 billion in total value locked and 24% to 25% of staked Ethereum), wstETH ranks as the third-largest collateral asset on Aave V3, representing two-thirds of liquid staking deposits.
Since integrating Chainlink CCIP in November 2025, wstETH bridges natively across more than 16 blockchain networks.
