Wrapped STX (Velar) is a SIP-010 fungible token wrapper for native STX within the Velar decentralized exchange on Stacks. The contract converts native Stacks tokens into a standardized Clarity interface for automated market maker pools.

Users deposit STX to mint WSTX at a one-to-one ratio. Holders can redeem the wrapper for underlying STX through the smart contract at any time.

Velar launched this wrapper to standardize token pair routing across its spot liquidity pools. The underlying Stacks network completed its Nakamoto upgrade in October 2024.

That upgrade introduced five-second block confirmations and Bitcoin layer finality for decentralized exchange trades. Fireblocks added institutional custody support for Stacks assets in February 2026.

Wormhole also deployed Native Token Transfers to link Stacks with Solana and Sui during early 2026.
