The February 5, 2026 Cancun EVM upgrade remains the most important recent technical milestone, adding modern Ethereum compatibility while preserving Zilliqa features such as Scilla support and fast finality. The strategic narrative is now centered on the LTIN (Liechtenstein Trust Integrity Network) testnet proof-of-concept, Telecom Liechtenstein-backed validation infrastructure, and renewed vLEI issuer work with GLEIF.

The problem is adoption: DeFi activity remains tiny, Reddit activity is effectively zero, Telegram has about 11,386 members, and CoinGecko developer data still shows only 12 commits over four weeks.

Zilliqa has real infrastructure work underway, but the market is treating it as a distressed small-cap L1 rather than a growing network.
